Hi, I’m Mindy.
I created On-Call Grandma to give families something many no longer have nearby — a trusted, steady adult who can step in when life doesn’t go according to plan.
As a longtime Frederick resident and mom of three grown sons, I understand how overwhelming the logistics of parenting can be. My goal is simple: to provide dependable, local support that brings peace of mind to busy families.
Reliable support — we’re here when you need us most.
About On-Call Grandma
One afternoon, I was walking through my neighborhood and noticed something simple but powerful: parents juggling backpacks, snacks, schedules, and the nonstop rhythm of family life.
It struck me how many families don’t have a grandparent nearby to help carry that load.
That’s when the idea for On-Call Grandma was born.
Families today are stretched thin. Between work meetings, school pickups, activities, and unexpected schedule changes, life doesn’t always run on time. And when something shifts, not everyone has someone steady they can call.
On-Call Grandma exists to be that steady presence.
I’m a longtime Frederick resident and mom of three grown sons. Over the years, I’ve experienced firsthand how much it matters when a trusted adult can step in — not just to supervise, but to truly care. That understanding shaped everything about this business.
We’re not an app.
We’re not random sitters.
We’re local, vetted, dependable adults who show up.
Whether it’s:
• Walking a child home from school
• Covering an unexpected late meeting
• Driving to lessons or practice
• Helping during a last-minute schedule change
Our goal is simple:
To bring peace of mind to busy parents.
At On-Call Grandma, your child’s safety, emotional well-being, and comfort always come first. We believe in thoughtful policies, clear communication, and treating every family as if they were our own.
Because sometimes what families really need isn’t just childcare.
It’s someone kind.
Someone steady.
Someone ready and reliable.
Life happens. We show up.
